How to Purchase and Use Fares
Insert the exact amount of cash into the cash slot on the bus' fare box or the fare vending machine at stops. Your fare is valid for three hours and includes unlimited rides and transfers.
To get a transfer, ask the driver for a transfer slip. The transfer must stay with you for the duration of your trip. Please be prepared to present it to a fare inspector at any time as proof of payment.
For Smart TranCard users:
The fare is deducted automatically when you tap the card on the card reader or validation machine. To add value, you have to press the "add value button" before tapping the card and adding money. A transfer is also issued automatically, so swipe the card on the vehicle you're transferring to as well to validate your transfer.

Boarding With a Pass
Physical passes let you board from any door on a bus. However, please wave it to the driver before you board so the driver knows you have a pass. If you have a Smart TranCard with a pass loaded, you have to tap it on the card reader, which are located at all doors in many vehicles. If your vehicle doesn't have a reader, board at the front and present your card to the driver.
NOTE: If you are riding a school bus on your assigned route, these steps are not necessary.
